It's a perfect place where to have a beautiful view of the whole city
It was built in brick at the end of the 15th century by Bartolomeo Barattieri, who had acquired the fiefdom from Francesco Sforza's widow, Bianca Maria Visconti. The Barattieri family retained possession of the castle for almost five hundred years, before selling it to the current owners, the Spaggiari family. Used as a country residence, it has a quadrangular structure, with a keep (the oldest part), two turrets and a courtyard characterized by a beautiful double loggia.
Inside, the rooms (guided tour, only on Sundays) offer various collections and in the attic the MiM, Museum in Motion, with contemporary paintings and sculptures. Finally, the collection of reproductions of some statues (about forty) of the terracotta army of Xi'an, very suggestive.
Excellent guided tour, well told, good guide.

Very pleasant visit and thanks to the engaging guide Alessandra; the castle, beautiful in itself and for its historical collections, hosts a rich exhibition of modern art and part of the only certified copy of the Chinese terracotta army. It is worth a visit and the surroundings offer interesting culinary pleasures

Delightful castle of the duchies of Parma and Piacenza. It can be visited on Sundays and holidays in the months from March to October. The long, pleasant tree-lined avenue leads to the large door and in times gone by it also had a drawbridge.
Worth a visit. The guides are very comprehensive and punctual in their explanations. Excellent structure, well preserved and furnished.
Visited with a group of around 50 people.
Tourist guides available and very knowledgeable in describing the various rooms of the castle.

Beautiful castle of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza, beautifully furnished. Unfortunately you cannot take photos inside because it is a private residence (but you can find something online). Absolutely unique gem in the dungeons. Absolutely guided tour, a real added value!
